This name is what the Masai used to call this place, the Serengeti, which translates to "endless plains". This vast plain is filled with kilometres of grassland and open forest. A particularly iconic feature of this nature reserve is the migration of wildebeest, gazelles and zebras, one of the most awe-inspiring natural spectacles you can witness today and a major draw for tourists. The Serengeti National Park was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1981. There are many fascinating places to visit, such as Seronera (the central zone), a small area that is home to a wide variety of animal species. In addition to all this, there are plenty of activities to enjoy, such as a balloon safari over the reserve, visiting a hippo pond, climbing "Naabi Hill" and taking in the views. Overall, it's the perfect place to connect with nature.
